Provably random draws
Each draw uses a commit-reveal scheme. The winning ticket number is derived from a SHA-256 hash of (random seed + total ticket count). The seed is published before the draw window closes and recorded permanently next to the result. Anyone can recompute the result themselves.
Donation receipts
After each draw, the donation receipt issued by the chosen 501(c)(3) is linked from thewinners page. If we can't get a digital receipt, we post the wire confirmation and the charity's acknowledgment.
If a winner doesn't respond
Winners have 72 hours from the email timestamp to confirm. After that the jackpot is automatically donated to our default charity (currently Feeding America), and the status is recorded as defaulted_to_default on the winners page.
